Unlike [Comments](add-comments.mdx), Remarks are not linked to a specific part of the document and are not stage-dependent. They remain on the contract regardless of its current status. Remarks are available for all contracts and are useful for adding context, sharing internal notes, or attaching supporting files. > **Info — Key Points** > > - Remarks are for **internal purposes** only and add context to the contract. > - Remarks are **not stage-dependent** — they persist across all contract stages. > - Each remark supports up to **2,000 characters**. > - You can upload up to **5 attachments** per remark in various file formats. > - Remark activities are **not recorded** in the Activity Log. ## Add a Remark 1. Go to the **Contract Details Page**. 2. Navigate to the **Remarks** section. 3. Click **+Add Remark**. 4. In the popup: - Type your remark text (up to 2,000 characters). - **Tag users** by typing **@** followed by their name. The tagged user will receive an email notification about the remark. - **Upload Reference Attachment(s)** — add any supporting documents, screenshots, or spreadsheets for reference. Supported formats: **JPG, PNG, DOCX, TXT, CSV**. You can upload up to **5 files** per remark. - You can **rename uploaded files** by clicking the edit option before submitting. 5. Click **Add Remark** to submit. The remark will now be visible on the contract. ## View Remarks Anyone who has access to the contract can view all remarks. For remarks with reference attachments, you can: 1. Click the **Preview** button to preview the reference document. 2. Click the **Document** icon to download the attached reference document. > **Info — NOTE** > > You can sort remarks using the **Sort** icon. Available options: **Sort by Newest** and **Sort by Oldest**. ## Edit Remarks 1. Locate the remark you want to edit on the **Contract Details Page**. 2. Click on the **Edit** option on your remark. 3. Make your changes to the text, tags, or attachments. 4. Click **Save** to update the remark. ## Delete a Remark 1. Locate the remark you want to delete on the **Contract Details Page**. 2. Click on the **Delete** option on your remark. 3. Confirm the deletion when prompted. > **Info — NOTE** > > You can only edit or delete remarks that **you** created. Remarks created by other users cannot be deleted.
