Find the Contract: 1. Open the **Leegality Add-in** in the side panel. 2. You can view all pending actions from your end in the **Task List** (which is the same list seen in the DC browser). ![Task List](\img\My-Tasks.png) 3. Locate the contract needing your review in the **Contract List**. You can use **Filters** or **Search** if needed. You can also click on the task of your choice to route you to the contract. ### 2. Download for Review: ![Download for review](\img\Download-document.png) 1. Click the **Download icon** next to the contract name. This action is available during internal negotiation stages. 2. Check the box for **Enable offline review mode**. This prevents others from editing the contract on the Leegality platform while you work in Word. 3. The contract will open in your main Word window. ### 3. Make Your Edits & Comments: Use Microsoft Word's standard features to make changes: * Turn on **Track Changes** (**Review** tab) to clearly show your edits. * Add **Comments** (**Review** tab) to ask questions or provide feedback without changing the text directly. * Save the document periodically as you work, just like you would do in a Word document. > **Info — NOTE** > > Edits and comments made in Word are marked as **external** comments. If you want to use **internal** comments, please use the DC browser's online editor. ### 4. Upload Your Revised Version: The upload feature is unique; it automatically detects and uploads the document currently open in your Word window, eliminating the need for manual file selection. ![Upload document](\img\upload-document.png) 1. Once you've finished editing and commenting, go back to the **Leegality Add-in side panel**. 2. Click the **Upload** button. 3. Optional: You can optionally give this version a specific name. 4. This saves your edited Word document back to the Leegality platform as a new version and removes the offline lock if you enabled it. --- ## Extended Functionality in the Plugin ### AI Review In Word Add-In The **AI Review** feature is available in the Leegality Word Add-in, allowing you to efficiently assess documents for potential risks and compliance issues without leaving Microsoft Word. You can access AI Review directly from the right-side panel in the Add-in. ![AI review in Word Add in](\img\WordAddin-AIReview.png) #### Key Differences in Word Add-in The AI Review feature in Word Add-in offers unique advantages compared to the browser version: 1. **Open-Ended Document Review:** You can open any document directly in Word and use AI Review—no need to initiate it through the DC platform first. This provides greater flexibility for ad-hoc contract reviews. 2. **Insert Text with Track Changes:** When AI Review identifies issues (Not Met or Not Found cases) and provides suggested additions: * Click **Insert Text** to add the suggested clause directly into your Word document. * Click **Insert Text [Track Mode]** to add the suggestion with Track Changes enabled, making it easy to review and accept or reject the changes later. > **Info — NOTE** > > These insertion options are not available in the browser version. #### How to Use AI Review in Word Add-in 1. Open your document in Microsoft Word with the Leegality Add-in active. 2. In the right-side panel, locate and click on **AI Review** above the other features. 3. Select the Rule Set you wish to use for the review from the dropdown menu. 4. Click **Run** to start the AI Review process. 5. Review the results categorized as: * **Met:** Requirements fully satisfied * **Not Met:** Requirements found but need improvement * **Not Found:** Required clauses missing from the document 6. For **Not Met** and **Not Found** cases, use the **Insert Text** or **Insert Text [Track Mode]** buttons to add suggested clauses directly into your document. 7. Click **Re-run** after making changes to see updated results. > **Info — NOTE** > > For detailed information about AI Review functionality, see [AI Review](https://knowledge.leegality.com/deal-collaboration/deal-negotiation/ai-review). To learn how to create and manage Rule Sets, see [Rule Set Management](https://knowledge.leegality.com/deal-collaboration/Settings/rules-set). All other features available in the DC browser are also accessible in the Word Add-in, providing a consistent experience across platforms. ### Approve or Reject After uploading, the workflow buttons for the contract might become active in the side panel (depending on the contract stage and your permissions). * Click **Approve** if the contract (with your revisions, if any) is satisfactory for the current stage. * Click **Reject** if the contract requires significant changes from others before proceeding. This action advances the contract's stage on the Leegality platform. ### Comparing Document Versions Compare the currently open document (the Base Version) with any historical version uploaded to the DC platform. ![Compare documents](\img\Compare-document.png) 1. Click the **Compare icon** ($\approx$) in the side panel. 2. **Base version:** This is the version currently opened in your Word window. 3. **Revised version:** Select any one of the revised versions uploaded in DC under the contract to compare against. 4. Click **Run Compare**. The Add-in displays the changes between the current document and the selected revised version. ### Sharing a Document Share the latest document version with other collaborators on the contract (this mirrors the functionality in the DC platform). ![Share the Document](\img\share-document.png) 1. Click the **Share icon** ($\rightarrow$). 2. Select users from the organization's user list. 3. Attach additional deal documents, if any. 4. Optional: Provide any additional message you want to share. 5. Click **Share**. ### Viewing the Activity Log The **Activity Log** shows all actions logged in real-time, remaining consistent with the DC web platform audit trail. ![Activity log](\img\DC-Plugin-Activity log.PNG) > **Info — NOTE** > > All these features are also available in the DC platform, providing similar functionality. ### Additional Actions Depending on the contract stage, multiple options may appear. Click the **More** icon (⋮) to view all available actions. ![More actions](\img\More-actions.png) | Action | Description | | :--- | :--- | | **Discard** | Permanently deletes the document from the platform. Use this action with caution. This feature is always available. | | **Unlock document** | Manually removes the lock on the document, allowing others to access and edit it on the DC platform. | | **Upload signed documents** | Uploads the copy of the document back to the Deal Collaboration platform. | ### Advance Contract Workflow to DC You can move the document to the next stage of its pre-defined workflow (e.g., from 'Draft' to 'Awaiting Approval') directly from the Add-in, pushing the status update to the DC platform. | Action | Purpose | | :--- | :--- | | **Approve / Reject** | Used during internal review stages. | | **Send for External Review** | Moves the contract to the counterparty negotiation stage. Internal comments are automatically deleted before sharing. | | **Mark as Ready for Signing** | Moves the document to the final configuration stage. | These actions work the same in the browser and the plugin. The Word Add-in handles the collaboration and negotiation lifecycle but hands off specific final processes to the DC web platform. ![Configure signing window](\img\Configure-signing.png) > **Info — NOTE** > > Clicking the **Configure Signing** button will redirect the user to the specific configuration page on the DC web platform. Here, once you login, you will see your [configure signing](https://knowledge.leegality.com/deal-collaboration/signing-journey) journey. For E-Signing, users will be redirected from DC to the Document Execution platform.
