It helps you understand the specific terminology and jargon with easy-to-follow definitions. ## Regulatories --- #### ASA (Authentication Service Agency) ASAs are agencies that have established secured leased line connectivity with the CIDR compliant with UIDAI's standards and specifications. ASAs offer their UIDAI-compliant network connectivity as a service to requesting entities (such as AUAs/KUAs) and transmit their authentication requests to CIDR. #### ASP (Application Service Provider) Application Service Provider (ASP) - an entity that provides front-end tools and services that allow signers to Aadhaar eSign documents. #### AUA (Authentication/Aadhar User Agency) Authentication User Agency (AUA) is an entity engaged in providing Aadhaar Enabled Services to Aadhaar number Holder, using the authentication as facilitated by the Authentication Service Agency (ASA). #### CA (Certifying Authorities) The Certifying Authorities (CAs) issue digital signature certificates for electronic authentication of users. Digital Signature Certificates (DSC) are issued by Certifying Authorities (CA) upon successful verification of the identity and address credentials of the applicant. #### CCA (Controller of Certifying Authorities) CCA provides license and regulates the working of Certifying Authorities. The CCA also maintains the Repository of Digital Certificates, which contains all the certificates issued to the CAs in the country. #### eGRAS Online Government Receipts Accounting System (e-GRAS) is an e-Governance Initiative of Government of Rajasthan. e-GRAS facilitates collection of tax/non tax revenue in both the mode online as well as manual. #### ESP (eSign Service Provider) eSign Service Provider (ESP) - the central entity that facilitates the Aadhaar eSign transaction between the signer, the UIDAI and the Certifying Authority. Under India’s regulatory framework - the eSign Service Provider or “ESP” must be owned and operated by a Certifying Authority. #### KUA (e-KYC User Agency) Acronym for KYC User Agency, the KUA fetches the KYC details from the UIDAI server. The KYC checks are carried out in the UIDAI server by collecting Aadhaar Number and OTP / Biometrics (Fingerprint / Iris / Face). #### NeSL NeSL is India’s first Information Utility and is registered with the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI). The primary role of NeSL is to serve as a repository of legal evidence holding the information pertaining to any debt/claim, as submitted by the financial or operational creditor and verified and authenticated by the parties to the debt. #### UIDAI UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) is the government agency responsible for implementing and managing the Aadhaar program, which provides a unique 12-digit identification number to Indian residents based on biometric and demographic data.
