Such a Certificate can be procured from providers such as SafeScrypt. The organization will have to install Leegality’s utility on their server and place the procured Certificate along with it. Leegality’s application will allow you to set a Signature level ID and Password, and program the API to automatically digitally sign the document before or after the a signatory or similar Authenticates it. ## Setting up Document Signer Certificate (DSC) To set up a Document Signer Certificate for your account: 1. Click on the **Settings ⚙️** icon in the top right corner. 2. From the left panel, go to **Settings > eSignature & Seal.** 3. In Document Signer Certificate, click on **Setup**. 4. Enter the **eSign Name**. It can be anything. 5. Choose where you want to store the Document Signer Certificate: | Hosting Option | What You Need to Do | Key Considerations | | :--- | :--- | :--- | | 🖥️ **Host on Your Server** | 1. Provide a publicly accessible **Profile Access URL**. 2. **Whitelist Leegality's IP addresses** for secure access (we will provide these). 3. Follow the instructions to [**download and install the Leegality Doc Signer Utility**](https://gitlab.com/leegality-public/docsigner) on your server. | Choose this if you have the technical infrastructure and prefer to manage the certificate hosting in-house. | | ✨ **Host on Leegality's Server** _(Recommended)_ | 1. Upload your certificate (`.pfx` file). 2. Enter the password for the `.pfx` file. | This is the simplest, hassle-free option. Leegality manages all the technical infrastructure, so you can get started right away without any setup. | 6. Provide the **Email Address(es)** for receiving certificate expiry notifications. Leegality sends expiry reminder emails to users 30 days, 15 days, and 1 day before their Doc Signer expires, giving them sufficient time to update or replace it. Only if you are hosting on Leegality server. 7. Click **Save** to complete the setup. ## Sending Journey The Document Signer Certificate is used to sign documents on behalf of the organization. It is mainly intended for users within the organization and is primarily used in automated signature processes. 1. Hover over the **Signature Type** dropdown. 2. Enable **Automated Sign**. 3. Use **Choose Automated Sign profile** drop to select the signer's automated eSign profile. > **Tip** > > Use the eSign ID and Name to identify the profile. 4. Enter the password and click **Save**. ## Signing Journey When the invitation for an automated signer is activated, the document will be signed automatically within a few seconds. > **Info — Note** > > Leegality will be logging the Sender's Public IP from which the Document Request was created - for both Dashboard and API use cases in the Audit Trail for Doc Signer.
