# Invitee Notifications

Leegality sends notifications to invitees at key stages of the document signing journey via [Email](https://knowledge.leegality.com/document-execution/leegality-features/invitee-level/notifications/email-notifications), [SMS](https://knowledge.leegality.com/document-execution/leegality-features/invitee-level/notifications/sms-notifications), and [WhatsApp](https://knowledge.leegality.com/document-execution/leegality-features/invitee-level/notifications/whatspp-notifications) — based on what is configured for each invitee.

## Optional Notifications

These notifications are sent only if the respective channel (Email, SMS, or WhatsApp) is enabled for the invitee:

- Sign or review invitation notification
- Expiry notification
- Re-activation notification
- Deletion notifications
- Reminder notifications before expiry
- Sign or review completion notification

### Reminder Notifications

Reminder notifications are sent automatically **3, 2, and 1 day(s) before** the document signing link expires. They are delivered via whichever channels (Email, SMS, WhatsApp) are enabled for the invitee.

## Mandatory Notifications

These notifications are always sent to invitees, regardless of whether Email or SMS notifications are enabled or disabled in the invitee-level settings:

- **Document completion notification** — Sent to all invitees after everyone has signed the document. Includes the completed document and audit trail PDF.
- **eSign confirmation** — Sent immediately after an invitee signs the document, confirming their eSignature.
- **OTP for signature** — Delivered during signing via Virtual Sign or Aadhaar eSign, for identity verification before applying the signature.
- **Security verification OTP** — Sent when the signer undergoes 1-Factor or 2-Factor Authentication as part of the signing process.
