With MFA enabled, a user must have: 1. **Their existing login credentials** (OTP or password) **and** 2. **A one-time passcode (TOTP)** generated by a third-party authenticator app. This helps safeguard against unauthorised access — even if someone has your primary login credentials. ## How MFA Works When you log into your Leegality account with MFA activated: * After entering your **username** and **OTP/password**, you will be prompted to enter a **TOTP**. * The TOTP is generated by an authenticator app (e.g., Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator) on your phone. * Each code refreshes every **30 seconds** and is valid for **60 seconds**. ## How to Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) > **Info — Note** > > MFA is a *user-level setting*. Each user in your organisation must enable it individually. 1. Click the **gear icon** (top-right corner). 2. Select **Settings → Profile** from the left-hand menu. At the bottom of your profile page, you will find **Multi-Factor Authentication**. 3. Click the **Set Up Multi-Factor Authentication** button. A pop-up will guide you through setup. 4. Install an Authenticator App. Recommended options: Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or similar. Available on iOS and Android app stores. 5. Open your authenticator app and scan the QR code shown in the setup pop-up. This links your Leegality account to your authenticator app. 6. Enter the 6-digit code displayed in your authenticator app for Leegality: \[your email\]. 7. Click **Enable MFA**. You have now activated MFA for your account. ## Logging in with MFA Once MFA is enabled: 1. Enter your username and OTP/password as usual. 2. A pop-up will appear asking for your TOTP. 3. Open your authenticator app, find the Leegality entry, and enter the code displayed. You will be logged in once the TOTP is verified.
