This is different from a Stamp Group, where the system automatically selects a combination of denominations to meet a variable stamp duty amount. - **Multiple Stamp Series:** A user can select the stamp series from which they want to attach the stamp paper to the document. - **Stamp Group:** A user can only add the stamp amount that needs to be attached; they cannot choose from which stamp series the papers are coming from. > **Tip — Prerequisite** > > Before using Multiple Stamp Series, ensure you have stamp papers in your account: > 1. [Create a Stamp Series](https://knowledge.leegality.com/document-execution/stamps/stamp-series/create-a-stamp-series) > 2. [Purchase Stamp Papers](https://knowledge.leegality.com/document-execution/stamps/stamp-series/purchase-stamp-series) ## When to Use Multiple Stamp Series - The stamp duty amount is **fixed and known** before the document is sent. - You need stamps from **different series** — for example, series with different article codes meant for different types of agreements. - You want to **control exactly which series** a stamp is drawn from for a specific document. ## Enabling Multiple Stamp Series Multiple Stamp Series can be configured while creating a **New Document** or while configuring a **Workflow**. In both cases, go to the stamp configuration step in the respective flow (see [Use Stamps](https://knowledge.leegality.com/document-execution/stamps/use-stamps) for detailed steps) and follow the steps below. 1. Enable the **Use Stamps** toggle. 2. Enable the **Use Stamp Series** toggle and select **Multiple Stamps**. 3. Select a stamp series from the dropdown and enter the number of stamps to attach (min: 1, max: 99 per series). 4. Click **+ Add More** to add another series. Repeat as needed. 5. All selected series must be from the **same state**. > **Info — Note** > > In **Workflow Configuration**: > - The creator can either pre-select the series and lock them, or leave placeholders for the workflow runner to fill in. > - If placeholders are left blank, the workflow runner **must** select a series before running — it is mandatory. > - The runner is not required to use all added series; using one or more is allowed. --- ## Same Denomination in a Stamp Group When two series share the same denomination but have different article codes, adding them both to a Stamp Group is not recommended. Since the Stamp Group algorithm selects stamps based on denomination value alone, it cannot distinguish between the two series — making the selection unpredictable. **What to do instead:** If you need stamps from two series that share the same denomination (for example, two ₹500 series with different article codes), use **Multiple Stamp Series** instead. This lets you explicitly select each series and specify the quantity, giving you full control over which series is used for each document. > **Info — Note** > > Adding two or more series with the same denomination to a Stamp Group is not recommended, as the system cannot determine which series to draw from. ## Use Case Suppose a document requires multiple stamp papers from different stamp series, such as 100 INR stamp paper for an Affidavit, 100 INR for a Deed of Mortgage, and 100 INR for a Power of Attorney. In that case, you can use the Multiple Stamp Series Selection feature. Here's how it works: When sending the document, you can select the "Multiple Stamps" option. This allows you to affix one stamp from each of the three series. Simply: 1. Choose the Affidavit series and specify 1 stamp. 2. Choose the Deed of Mortgage series and specify 1 stamp. 3. Choose the Power of Attorney series and specify 1 stamp. With this feature, you can easily manage and allocate the required number of stamp papers for each specific purpose within a single document workflow, ensuring all necessary stamps are appropriately affixed.
