# Extend Expiry of Stamps

When using stamp papers procured via Leegality, <u>each stamp has a default expiry date of 6 months from the date of purchase.</u>

> **Tip — Example**
>
> If the stamps' purchase date is 01-January-2024, they will expire on 01-July-2024.
Beyond this period, the stamp papers are automatically categorized as expired and removed from usable circulation.

> This Expiry date is an internal policy of Leegality and does not hold any regulatory significance in a legal context.

To continue using beyond the default 6-month period, Leegality provides an Extend Expiry Date option within the dashboard.

You must have admin access to extend expiry date of stamps.

## To Extend the Expiry of Stamps

1. From your Leegality Dashboard, navigate to **Stamps > Series**.
2. Find the stamp series with expired stamps that you want to extend. <u>You can search using the series name or number.</u>
3. Click on **Three Dots (⋮)** and select **Extend Expiry**.
4. Each row represents stamps based on the **Purchase Date** and **Expiry Date**, along with the quantity of stamps falling into this combination.
5. Select the row(s) for which you intend to extend the expiry date, then specify the **number of days** you wish to extend it.
> **Tip — Example**
>
> Suppose the **Expiry Date** is 31-March-2024, and you specified an **additional 100 days**. The new expiry date will be 09-July-2024.
6. Click **Extend**.

>
> Expiry dates can be extended regardless of whether the stamp papers are expired or not.

> **Warning — IMPORTANT**
>
> The legal validity of stamps is governed by the respective state laws. Extension of the expiry timeline on Leegality will not result in the extension from the legal perspective.
