They span the full width of the page wherever you insert them. ## Insert a horizontal line Add a horizontal line to separate sections of your document: 1. Place your cursor where you want the line to appear. 2. On the toolbar, click **Insert Horizontal Line**. The line will appear at the cursor position, spanning the full width of the page. ## Remove a horizontal line Delete a horizontal line from your document: 1. Click to position your cursor at the line. 2. Press **Backspace** or **Delete** on your keyboard. The line will be removed from your document. ## When to use horizontal lines **Good use cases:** - Separating major sections of a document - Before and after important notices - Creating visual breaks in long documents - Between different topics or subjects **Avoid using when:** - Content sections are already clearly separated by headings - The document is very short - White space alone would suffice > **Tip** > > Use horizontal lines sparingly. Too many lines can create visual clutter. For most documents, a simple line between major sections is sufficient.
