You can create numbered lists for sequential items or bulleted lists for non-sequential items. ## Numbered list Create a numbered list that starts from 1: 1. Place your cursor where you want the list to begin. 2. On the toolbar, click **Insert/Remove Numbered List**. 3. Type your first list item and press **Enter** to create the next item. The list will automatically number each item (1, 2, 3, etc.). ### Create sublists in numbered lists Add nested sublists within your numbered list: 1. Position your cursor at the list item where you want to create a sublist. 2. Press **Tab** on your keyboard. The item will indent and become a sublist with its own numbering format (e.g., 1.1, 1.2 or a, b, c). > **Tip** > > You can press Tab multiple times to create deeper nested sublists (e.g., 1.1.1, 1.1.2). Each Tab press creates a new nesting level. ### Remove numbered list Remove numbering from a list: 1. Select the numbered list items. 2. On the toolbar, click **Insert/Remove Numbered List** again. The numbers will be removed and the text will return to normal paragraphs. ## Bulleted list Create a bulleted list with bullet points: 1. Place your cursor where you want the list to begin. 2. On the toolbar, click **Insert/Remove Bulleted List**. 3. Type your first list item and press **Enter** to create the next item. The list will automatically add bullet points (•) before each item. ### Create sublists in bulleted lists Add nested sublists within your bulleted list: 1. Position your cursor at the list item where you want to create a sublist. 2. Press **Tab** on your keyboard. The item will indent and become a sublist with a different bullet style (e.g., ○ or ■). > **Tip** > > You can press Tab multiple times to create deeper nested sublists. Each Tab press creates a new nesting level with different bullet styles. ### Remove bulleted list Remove bullets from a list: 1. Select the bulleted list items. 2. On the toolbar, click **Insert/Remove Bulleted List** again. The bullets will be removed and the text will return to normal paragraphs. > **Info — INFO** > > Press **Shift+Tab** to move a list item back to a higher level (reduce nesting). ## When to use lists **Use numbered lists when:** - Order matters (steps in a process, rankings, sequences) - Items need to be referenced by number - Creating instructions or procedures **Use bulleted lists when:** - Order doesn't matter - Listing features, benefits, or options - Breaking down information into digestible points > **Info** > > Lists automatically continue numbering or adding bullets when you press Enter after each item. Press Enter twice to exit the list and return to normal text.
