When you’re working on a template sometimes the PDF content gets updated. So instead of creating a new template from scratch and adding fields to it, you can replace the base pdf on which the fields were dropped. This will keep the fields and their settings intact so you can use them in the new PDF. ## How to Replace Base PDF 1. In the **Dashboard**, click on the **Template** on the left. 2. Find the PDF template whose base PDF you want to change. 3. Click the **Three Dots (⋮)**, then choose **Replace Base PDF**. 4. In the pop-up, click to upload the new PDF. That’s it! Your original PDF will be replaced with your new PDF. Your fields will remain in the same positions, with the same Properties settings. ## Missing Fields When replacing the original PDF with a new version that has fewer pages, some fields may no longer be included. > **Info — Example** > > If a 10-page PDF is replaced by a 9-page PDF, any fields on the 10th page will be missing. > These missing fields retain all their original properties and can be found in the right panel under "List of Fields." To reuse these fields, click on the field and add it to the desired location in the new PDF document.
