If you encounter an upload issue, first verify your file meets the upload requirements documented in the [Sending Journey](https://knowledge.leegality.com/document-execution/getting-started/sending-journey) — PDF format, up to 10 files, combined size within 30 MB, not password-protected, not corrupt. If the file meets all requirements and the error persists, find your error message below.
ErrorCauseResolution
"Selected file is not allowed" The uploaded file does not meet the system's upload requirements. Common reasons:
  • The file is not a PDF
  • The PDF is corrupt
  • The PDF is password-protected
  • The PDF has editing or security restrictions
  1. Confirm the file is a valid PDF (.pdf) and not corrupt.
  2. Remove any password or security restrictions from the PDF.
  3. Re-save the PDF to clear any restrictive properties:
    • Open the PDF in Chrome or Adobe Reader
    • Click Print
    • Select Save as PDF as the destination
    • Save and re-upload the new copy
  4. Refresh the page, clear browser cache, or try a different browser.
  5. If you are on a corporate network or device, test on a personal device or network.
"The PDF file you are trying to upload is password protected. Please remove the password and try again." The PDF you are uploading is password-protected. Remove the password from the PDF and upload again. You can remove the password by opening the PDF in Adobe Acrobat (File > Properties > Security) or by re-saving via Print > Save as PDF in Chrome without a password.
"This particular PDF file is not suitable for eSigning. Please create a new file and try again." The file was recognised as a PDF, but its validation failed. This can happen with corrupted PDFs. Open the PDF in a standard PDF tool (Adobe Acrobat, Chrome, or Preview), re-save it, and re-upload the new copy.
"Unexpected error while uploading file. Please try again." An unexpected error occurred during upload. This is usually transient.
  1. Retry the upload once.
  2. Verify the file format and that the file is not corrupt.
  3. If the error persists, contact [support@leegality.com](mailto:support@leegality.com) with the error code and a screenshot.
